This Week!

On Monday all the senior counselors gathered back to Burroughs to grade the packets. We arrived at around 8:45 and immediately began the task. My session was downstairs and we were grading forest packets for both session 1 and 2 while the first session was upstairs grading stream packets.  We were each given a stack of about four packets and also an answer key. We graded page by page until periodically we would switch with someone next to us. The process was not as bad as I thought it would be and it was actually really fun to be in a room with everyone again. They also had lots of snacks and pizza for lunch (even though I had to scrape off the cheese, it was still delicious). We eventually finished grading much earlier than expected and when we were done, we tracked down Mr. L so we could "hit the craw" one last time. I would say the most memorable part of the grading was the grading of Kiran's forest packet. Jan was grading it during our session 2 packet grading time and was finding that her writing was great but all her data was off. She ended up getting a 56% and we were all surprised because this didn't seem like Kiran. Then Zach from session 1 came down and commented on how great she was in his group and we realized the issue. Kiran had put on her packet Sessions 2 instead of Session 1, so we graded her with the session 2 answer key. This is why all her data was wrong because session 1 and session 2 had similar, but different data! We re-graded hers and found that she actually did quite well, once graded using the sessions 1 key. It was a good time.

Other than that, my internship is winding down. I have written many blurbs about many different topics the past few days and still continue to do research for her diversity assessment project.
